Intellectual property clinic

The University of Minnesota Law School’s Intellectual Property (IP) Clinic is a student-run, attorney-supervised legal clinic that assists in intellectual property matters such as copyrights, trademarks, patents, confidentiality obligations and related agreements. The IP Clinic does not handle litigation, arbitration, or any other type of dispute (though in some instances the IP Clinic may provide general advice and counsel so a client may independently assess the merits of a potential claim).  Clients of the clinic have included artists, small businesses, students, authors, non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs, and solo inventors.  The goal of the IP Clinic is to provide students with an opportunity to gain real-world experience with a variety of IP-related issues while providing the local community an opportunity to obtain no- or low-cost general advice and counsel.
