Elevate Update: A more modern Friday Financial Services
Yolanda Friday, founder and owner of the tax and accounting firm Friday Financial Services, joined Elevate Hennepin's CEO Start cohort for help modernizing her business. Now, a year later, she continues to successfully evolve her company to keep up with her ever-changing market.
"It's been a year of keeping up with the business and trying to stay on top of all the trends and tax stuff that's happening," said Yolanda.
It's been a few years of major changes, but the last year has been especially tumultuous for her industry due to major legislative changes. She has also been working on new certifications for her and the business to offer more services to her existing clients and bring in new clients that have more complex tax situations.
She's also celebrating a lot of successes, new clients, new capabilities, but also finishing a major website overhaul. She's also seeing the fruits of her marketing work pay off.
"I was invited to be on a panel where I talk finance with people, and to be able to add different things into the business--all of those things have been just wonderful this past year," said Yolanda.
To make time for everything, Yolanda has kept modernization top of mind to bring in new technologies, like a new customer relationship management (CRM) system that solves a lot of tedious tasks.
"The CRM has been great to be able to get that and bring everything into perspective so that it runs smoothly. And I like things to run like a well-oiled machine," said Yolanda.
The new tool helps Yolanda and her clients see what's needed, find old documents, and streamline the whole tax process.
She also continues to work with Elevate Hennepin advisors, like the Better Business Bureau, recently getting some fresh headshots and support to keep up with ever-changing social media marketing strategies.
"Elevate Hennepin is such a blessing to have," said Yolanda. "I've really been telling everyone about it because it's really excellent."
