Preparing your business for paid leave

Minnesota Paid Leave is a new program launching Jan. 1, 2026, that provides workers with paid time off when a serious health condition prevents them from working, when they need time to care for a family member or a new child, for certain military-related events, or for certain personal safety issues.

As part of the Paid Leave team’s ongoing efforts to prepare employers for the new program, Minnesota Paid Leave is partnering with The BWC (The Business Women's Circle), the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) to host a virtual workshop for women-owned businesses.

Participants will learn about their roles and responsibilities under the Paid Leave program, and gain insights from business owners and HR professionals experienced with Paid Leave. Businesses owners will also have a chance to connect with each other in break-out sessions, following the presentation.
