Copyright and contracts for public art

This panel discussion with attorney Walter G. Lehmann and artist Moira “Miri” Villiard will explore the legal and professional aspects of how public art is commissioned, created and maintained. The discussion will include an overview of the Visual Artists Rights Act (VARA), basics of copyright and work-for-hire, and how artists and organizations can draft contracts that ensure fair compensation, proper attribution and a plan for upkeep. Moderated by Cecilia Cornejo, documentary filmmaker and Artist Career Consultant with Springboard for the Arts. https://lehmannplc.com/about-me/
