Hatch Bloomington 2026
Launched in 2024, Hatch Bloomington began as a pitch competition offering $100,000 in funding to help entrepreneurs bring new retail concepts to life. The program quickly became a celebrated platform for showcasing the creativity and resilience of Bloomington’s business community. In 2026, the City of Bloomington reimagined the program as Hatch Bloomington Loves Local, shifting its focus to supporting existing Bloomington businesses, a strategic move that reflects the city’s commitment to strengthening the businesses that already serve as anchors in the community.
Applications for the 2026 program will open in June 2026, giving local business owners the opportunity to secure funding that can support capital improvements, operational upgrades, or expansion plans. Up to five Bloomington based businesses will be selected to receive financial assistance, with a review panel of community and business leaders guiding the selection process.
A Program Built for Local Impact
Hatch Bloomington is more than a funding opportunity, it’s a community investment strategy.
Eligible businesses must operate a brick and mortar location in Bloomington, employ 50 or fewer full time employees, and be in good standing with local, state, and federal regulations.
This focus on existing businesses ensures that the program strengthens the city’s commercial fabric supporting the shops, restaurants, and service providers that residents rely on every day.
